Elevating the Tractor

Elevating Front End for Safe Service

1. Remove the ignition key, and disconnect the spark
plug wire to prevent accidental starting while working
on the unit.
2. Engage the parking brake and block the rear wheels.
3. Using an overhead hoist (Figure 11) or a floor jack,
carefully raise the front end up 1" to 2".
NOTE: For overall unit stability during service, do not lift
front end higher than required for tire removal.
NOTE: Because the front axle can pivot, always support
both sides of unit evenly.
4. Support the rider by positioning jackstands (Figure 12)
under the frame.
