18. Remove the hardware (A, Figure 37) securing the
drive shaft front flange (B) to the engine pulley (C).
Lower the flange below the engine oil pan, and pull
toward the front to disengage the drive shaft from the
Hydrostatic Unit input shaft. Remove the drive shaft.
19. Remove the hardware (A, Figure 38) securing the
engine and left (B) and right (C) engine brackets to
both engine bracket mounts (D) on each frame
members.
20. Connect a suitable lifting device to the lift rings on the
engine, and raise the engine slightly. Pull the engine
toward the front of the tractor until the cooling fan is
clear of the radiator shroud. Lift the engine from the
tractor and move the engine to a suitable work area.
21. Remove the hardware (E) securing the left (B) and
right (C) mounting brackets to the engine.

Daihatsu Distributor for specific information on the
disassembly, repair, reassembly, and adjustment of
the Briggs & Stratton Daihatsu Liquid Cooled Diesel
24.5 HP Models.
