How to Install/Update USB Driver for the Fujitsu
MB2147-01 and MB2198-01 Emulator System

Introduction

The Fujitsu emulator systems are required to perform complex
debugging of test code on target systems. The Fujitsu emulator
systems provides complex debugging functions such as Watch and
Trace to help the user debug the software through communication
that exists between IDE (SW) and the emulator system (HW).
The Fujitsu emulator systems provide an option to communicate to
the Softune workbench using RS232, USB or LAN. Among these
options, USB connectivity is most commonly preferred by the user
because of the speed, ease of configuration and unavailability of
RS232 ports in recent PC system. A USB driver installation is
required on PCs that will communicate to the emulator systems
using USB.
This application note provides the step by step procedure for the
USB driver version 9.0 installations on both the MB2147-01

(F MC-16LX emulator) and MB2198-01 (F
32-bit FR emulator) and how to roll-back to the previous version if
required.

USB Driver Version

The current USB driver version is 9.01. Prior to this, Softune
Workbench has two previous versions of the USB driver
(version 7.02 and 1.4.0.1). The current installed version of the
driver can be checked with a device manager by displaying the
driver's properties dialog as shown below.
1. The driver file name is "SiUSBd.sys".
2. The driver file name is " windrvr6.sys " and its version is " 7.02 ".

Difference from the Previous USB
Driver version
The new USB driver version 9.01 has been changed in the following
items from the previous version 7.02 and earlier.
1. OS Compatibility
The new Driver supports the following OSs:
Windows 2000/XP/
Note that this driver supports only 32-bit version OS.
2. Display by Device Manager
After the driver is installed, the content displayed by the device
manager has increased.
