Troubleshooting Guide

Should you have a problem with your unit, check the
unit while referring to the instructions in the table
below.
Symptoms
The OVER indicator of the
infrared transmitter lights
up red.
The LOW indicator of the
infrared transmitter lights
up green.
The CHECK indicator of
the infrared interface unit
lights.
The POWER indicator of
the infrared receiver does
not light or is very dim.
Possible causes
The signal input level is
too high.
• The input signal level is
low.
• The connecting cable is
not connected to the
AUDIO CHANNEL
INPUT connector
properly.
• The connecting cable is
not connected to the
LINE IN/LINE OUT
connectors properly.
• The POWER switch of
the infrared transmitter is
not set to ON.
• The CHECK indicator is
still lit even after the
above remedies have
been taken.
The built-in battery is not
charged.
Corrective action
Decrease the output level at the audio
source equipment until the OVER indicator
goes off and the NORMAL indicator lights.
• Increase the output level of the audio
source equipment until the LOW indicator
goes off and the NORMAL indicator lights
up green.
• Connect the connecting cable correctly.
• Connect the connecting cable correctly.
• Set the POWER switch of the infrared
transmitter to ON.
• There may be trouble in internal circuits.
Contact your nearest Sony dealer
Check the charge condition of the battery of
that infrared receiver by inserting it into the
BATTERY CHECK pocket of the charger. If
the battery charge level is low, charge the
battery.
