Question for information. Have always been taught that when drilling & bolting equipment down that whatever the size of hole drilled and tapped for securing that you should have the same amount of metal on each side of the bolt being drilled and tapped into the plate for proper strength of the securing plate. In you case they use a 1/2" bolt for example shouldn't there be at least a 1/2" of metal on each side of the bolt being used. As for a mechanical standard.
