IGNITION SYSTEM

TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Inspection steps:
1. Oil level
2. Spark plug
3. Ignition spark gap
4. Spark plug cap
5. TCI unit coil resistance
NOTE:
• Remove the following part(s) before troubleshooting.
1) Panel 4
2) Fuel tank
3) Control panel
4) Flywheel magneto
5) Crankcase cover
• Use the following special tool(s) for troubleshooting.
Pocket tester:
YU-03112-C, 90890-03112
1. Oil level
• Check the oil level.
Refer to "OIL LEVEL CHECKING" in
CHAPTER 2.
2. Spark plug
• Check the spark plug condition.
Refer to "SPARK PLUG" in CHAPTER 2.

6. Main switch
7. Oil level switch
8. Air gap between TCI unit and flywheel mag-
neto
9. Wire harness (ignition system)
Dynamic spark tester:
YM-34487
Ignition checker:
90890-06754
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
Add oil.
NO GOOD
Repair or replace the spark plug.
