9. Disposal

The elements of the vacuum interrupter,
such as ceramic, copper alloys and stainless
steel are environmentally friendly and even
after use contain no toxic or
environmentally harmful products. After the
contacts have worn away, the chambers can
be disposed of without any special
precautionary measures.
During rebuilding or disassembly of the
apparatus, the following types of material can be
disposed of separately:
• Stainless steel
• Copper and copper alloy
• Aluminium alloy
• Rubber (seals etc.)
• Synthetic materials
• Cables
• Magnets
• Electronic components
The disposal or recycling of the materials and
components must be carried out in accordance
with the locally applicable rules and regulations.
