ASSEMBLY
NOTE:
The product is intended to be installed on the
wall in connection with a window or balcony
as an emergency evacuation route if there is
a fire.
Assembly for evacuation from
window
The product should be mounted no more
than 30 cm from the window with its top
end level with the top edge of the window
and so that the bottom end of the ladder
is at least 50 cm above the ground.
Check that the window opens in the
direction away from the ladder, so that
the ladder can be reached when the
window is opened.
In side-hung double windows the window
that is to be used as the evacuation route
must usually be re-hung so that the
hinges are placed on the middle post, so
that the window frame does not obstruct
evacuation. Alternatively an extra step can
be mounted under the evacuation
window, about 50 cm from the ladder.
Assembly for evacuation from
balcony
For evacuation from a balcony the release
device should be placed 160–170 cm above
the balcony deck and at 50–60 cm from the
balcony. The minimum distance to the ground
is 50 cm.

INSTALLATION
1.
Check before installation that no parts are
missing or damaged.
2.
Lift the product to the right position in
relation to the window/balcony to be used
as an evacuation route.
3.
Check that the distance to the ground is at
least 50 cm.
4.
Check that the release device is easy
to reach. The release device should be
mounted on the side of the ladder closest
to the evacuation route.
5.
Fasten the product temporarily in one
of the upper attachment holes, but do
not tighten. Put an aluminium washer
between the ladder and wall for each
attachment hole before screwing in the
screws. These washers are not necessary if
brackets are used.
FIG. 4
6.
Check that the product hangs vertically and
fasten it temporarily in one of the lower
attachment holes, but do not tighten.
7.
Fit all the screws, and screw tight. Wooden
walls should be predrilled with a drill with
a small diameter.
8.
When all the screws are fitted and
tightened, check functionality by pulling
the release handle and checking that the
ladder open by virtue of its own weight.
9.
The opening should take place with
moderate force on the release handle.
If excessive force is necessary, check that
the product is flush with the surface of
the wall and not pressed against any
irregularities. To achieve smooth contact
without deformation of the product it may
be necessary to use brackets. Check that
the lock holes and release device are not
obstructed by foreign objects.
10. If the ladder does not open by virtue of
its own weight, check if any of the screws
