Covert operation

Quiet operation

100 Compliance radio operation
Compliance radios have a covert mode which allows
you to turn off the radio's internal speaker, the horn
speaker, the LEDs and the backlighting of display and
keypad.
The cabin speaker remains on, but the horn speaker
is muted. You can turn down the volume of the cabin
speaker using the volume control on the control head.
Covert operation is available in both MPT and
Conventional/P25 modes.
To turn covert mode on and off:
Long-press function key 4.
To briefly show the display during covert mode
Short-press function key 4.
The display backlighting is turned on at low level
for three seconds or as long as you are using the
radio (e.g. navigating the menu).
When quiet operation is on, keypress tones and
confirmation tones are turned off. Incoming call tones,
signalling tones and warning tones all remain audible.
To turn quiet operation on or off:
Press Menu and select Radio settings > Alert
settings > Quiet operation.
You can also press function key 5 of the HHCH.
