The FireFly
This is an illuminated earhook which provides
visual feedback to parents and educators on how
the processor is working.
FireFly earhook
Once the battery is connected, if the processor is communicating
effectively with the implant, the light should glow continuously.
However if there is a problem:
Glows continuously
No light
Yellow blinking light
(once a second)
Flickers continuously
All working well.
Check the battery.
Check the program
position is correct.
Ensure headpiece
retention is good. If
still flashing use
sensor (see
troubleshooting),
then change
headpiece.
Ensure that the child
is wearing their own
processor and not
that of another child
or the other ear.
