Symptom
Intermittent picture.
Blooming or flaring
picture.
Poor picture.
Possible Cause
♦ Suspect camera head or cable.
♦ Suspect video and/or power
cables.
♦ Too much light.
♦ Improper window size.
♦ Monitor controls need
adjustment.
♦ Camera head out of focus.
♦ Camera needs to be white
balanced.
♦ Video cables damaged.
♦ Suspect optical train.
♦ Low light output from light
source.

Corrective Action
♦ Flex camera cable. If picture is
affected, return to factory for
repair or replacement.
♦ Flex video and power cables. If
picture is affected, inspect cables
and replace as necessary.
♦ Decrease controller's brightness
level.
♦ Adjust light source intensity.
♦ Change Preset or change
window size from large window
to small window.
♦ Adjust brightness, sharpness
and/ or contrast controls of the
monitor.
♦ Adjust focus ring on coupler/
camera head.
♦ White balance camera controller
(reference "2.1.2 White Balance
Operation" on page 13).
♦ Check video cables for damage,
replace as necessary.
♦ Check scope, coupler and fiber
optic cables for damaged fibers,
nicks, cuts and buildup.
♦ Increase light source light
intensity.
♦ Replace light source lamp
module.
