Troubleshooting

Symptom
No illumination of
"POWER" switch
and Stand-by LED
when turned on.
No video image on
monitor.
Possible Cause
♦ Power cord is unplugged.
♦ Suspect power cord.
♦ Blown fuse(s).
♦ Component settings are
improperly selected.
♦ Video signal not being properly
transmitted to monitor. Video
cables are damaged, loose,
disconnected or routed
incorrectly.
♦ Suspect camera head and/or
cable.
♦ Camera head cable connector
not inserted correctly or
completely.
♦ Fogging.
♦ Cartridge coupler dry.

Corrective Action
♦ Plug power cord into rear of unit
and/or a properly grounded
receptacle.
♦ Replace power cord.
♦ Replace fuse(s). (See "3.5 Fuse
Replacement" on page 30).
♦ Check video monitor and
peripheral equipment settings.
Ensure they are set for
appropriate video input
(i.e. Y/C, line A, line B, etc.).
♦ Check video cables for damage,
replace as necessary. Verify
cable connections and reroute
video cables. (See Figures 2-1
through 2-5 for correct
connections).
♦ Replace camera head with a
working unit and verify image
on monitor. If image is viewed,
camera head and/or cable are
faulty. Return camera head to
Linvatec for repair.
♦ Insert camera head cable
connector completely into the
console's camera head receptacle
on the front panel. Card edge
should turn from blue to green.
♦ Inspect scope, coupler, if
applicable, and camera head for
chips or cracks.
♦ Remove scope, fill coupler with
sterile water and reinsert scope.
