4.3.Partialnetworkoperation
Today'spremiumvehiclescontainupto70controlunitswithwellover100microcontrollerswhichare
networkedwitheachother.However,dependingonthecurrentvehicleconditionorthevehicleuser
requirement,notallconvenienceandassistancesystemsneedtobeenergized.
Itispossibletosaveenergy,relievetheloadonthebatteryandalsoprolongthebatterylifebytargeted
deactivationandactivationoncontrolunitswhicharenotneeded,so-calledselectivepartialnetwork
operation.
Iffunctionsarenotusedorneededwhendriving,seatadjustmentforexample,thecorresponding
controlunitscanbeswitchedoff.
Invehicleswithcombustionengines,theelectricalenergyconsumptionisindirectlylinkedtothefuel
consumptionviathealternator.Asaresult,selectivedeactivationofcontrolunitsthatarenotcurrently
neededcancontributetoreducingfuelconsumptionandthusalsoCO

thebasisofthecurrentvehicleconditionandtherequiredfunctions.Thecontrolunitsthatarenot
