1. Make sure that the coupler and
hitch ball are the same size (2 in).
2. Have someone guiding you and
back the tow vehicle as close as
possible to the trailer. This is eas-
ier and safer than pulling the trailer
to the vehicle.
3. Be sure the coupler-locking mech-
anism is released.
4. Raise the front end of the trailer.
Position the coupler directly over
the hitch ball and lower until it is all
the way down.

5. Check under the coupling to be
certain that the ball clamp is below
the ball and not riding on top of the
ball.

6. Close the coupler on the hitch ball.
7. Lift the trailer tongue. If it comes
loose from the ball, open the cou-
pler, make sure the clamp is posi-
tioned correctly, the close it again.

8. Lock the coupler using a locking
pin.

trailer should be level.
9. Attach the tongue safety cables in
a crisscross pattern as shown.
