Sending a Fax using the Speed Dial
Registering fax or telephone numbers in speed dials enables you to send faxes easily.

To send using the one-touch speed dial:
Press the One-Touch Speed Dial button (01 to 08) assigned the number you want to dial.
To send using the coded speed dial:
Press the Coded Dial button, use the Numeric buttons or the {, }, [, or ] button to enter
the two-digit code (00 to 99) assigned the number you want to dial, then press the OK button.
To send using the group dial:
Press the One-Touch Speed Dial button, or after pressing the Coded Dial button, use the
Numeric buttons or the {, }, [, or ] button to enter the two-digit code (00 to 99) assigned
the group you want to dial, then press the OK button.
2
Press the Color button for color sending, or the Black button for black & white
sending.
See "Sending a Fax using the Numeric Buttons" on page 82.
Important
Color sending requires that the recipient's fax machine supports color faxing.
Note
To cancel sending a fax, press the Stop/Reset button. To cancel sending a fax while it is being
sent, press the Stop/Reset button, then follow the instructions on the LCD.
If documents remain in the ADF after pressing the Stop/Reset button during scanning,
"Document in ADF. Press OK to discharge document." appears on the LCD. Press the OK
button so that the remaining document is automatically fed out.
In case the machine was not able to send a fax, such as when the recipient's line was busy,
your machine is equipped with the function to automatically redial the number after a specified
interval. Automatic redialing is enabled by default. See "Automatic Redialing" on page 87.
To cancel automatic redialing, wait until the machine starts redialing, then press the Stop/Reset
button.
Sending Same Documents to Several Recipients (Sequential
Broadcasting)
Your machine allows you to send the same document to a maximum of 109 recipients in one
operation. You can dial the recipients' numbers using any of the following dialing methods:
One-touch speed dial: up to 8 destinations
Coded speed dial: up to 100 destinations
Regular dial (using the Numeric buttons) or redial: one destination
You can enter the destinations in any order, but be sure to press the OK button after your entry
with the Numeric buttons.
Note
If you frequently send documents to the same group of recipients, you can group these numbers
for group dialing. This will allow you to send documents to all recipients in the group at the press of
one or a few buttons. See "Registering Group Dial" on page 74.
