    Preparation ■ Che c k th e In cl ud ed I tem s Before turning on the machine, remove all the orange tapes and the protective sheets. □ Choosing a Location The Print Head is placed inside of the Paper Output Tray (A). Open the Paper Output Tray with your hands, and take out the Print Head.

    Connect the Telephone Line Only when connecting a telephone: To use the machine as a fax, a telephone line needs to be connected. This section describes the basic method of telephone line connection. For other connection methods, refer to the on-screen manual: Basic Guide.

    Confirming Your Connection Type Before setting up the machine, select the most suitable connection method. You can use the machine over a USB, wireless LAN or wired LAN connection.     Notes on Setup • If the firewall function of your security software is turned on, a warning message may appear that Canon software is attempting to access the network. • Quit all running applications before installation. If such a warning message appears, set the security software to always allow access.
