a. CTS Test 2 – Requires DB9F loopback test device
i. CTS setup for scale serial port settings – as on page 4, Steps 1a to 1d.
ii. DB9F Loopback connector - to validate RS232 over ports and adapters.
b. CTS Test 2 – Setup CTS
i. CTS should be setup for as in CTS Test 1 scales test
c. CTS Test 2 – Disconnect Scale from Computer
i. Important – Must first turn off scale and unplug power adapter
ii. Disconnect RS232 cable from scale at computer DB9M COM port.
iii. Place DB9F loopback connector on DB9M on computer
d. CTS Test 2 – COM Validation
i. Turn on CTS COM port – same as done on page 5, steps 2.c,ii
ii. Type a message "Test Loopback" in lower CTS window as below
iii. Press
iv. Test pass - green and yellow message in the upper CTS windows as below
v. Test fail - only the green message - yellow message is missing
e. CTS Test 2 – Test Results Interpretation
i. If CTS Test 2 – COM Validation Pass, COM port link is validated...
ii. Conclusion: CTS Test 2
iii. Conclusion: CTS Test 2
