IDC Printing – Setup and Operation

Overview.
The IDC series counting scale from Intelligent Weighing Technology Inc (IWTI) is equipped with a
single DB9 serial port for use with a printer for hardcopy report or to Windows computer for e-
recordkeeping. IDC may be configured with limited RS232 settings, print formats for line or special
label printer, and an option for auto print setting in association with the accumulation function.
This document is an addendum to the IDC user manual intended to clarify feature setup and print
operation for dealers and users. "Print" is used here to mean "weigh and/or count data with
descriptive labels" sent from IDC over RS232 to either a printer or to a computer COM port.
IDC print configuration setup is detailed step by step. Examples are provided of all IDC print format
configuration settings. Refer to each printer manual for printer setup and operation.
Document revision history
This first release addendum is expected to apply to all IDC series shipped in 2014 to present –
including all earlier firmware back to at least U237-C. Contact IWTI Applications with IDC serial
number to verify date of shipment or for assistance in verifying firmware on any IDC.
