i. Set parameter 71. o.c. to value 1 (Output: Continuous at all times)
ii. Set parameter 72. b.L. to value 4 (for Baud rate: 9600)
b. Then press
c. The scale and scale serial port are now set to...
i. Continuous, Baud:9600, Parity:N, Databits:8, StopBits:2, FlowCont:None
2) Step 2 - Connect the Scale to Computer by COM port.
a. With scale unplugged from power, unplugged from computer, and computer off
i. Turn on computer - continue when Windows initialized – with view of desktop.
ii. If RS232-to-USB adapter will be used – install driver - if not already done so.
iii. If you are not sure of the computer COM or VCOM port used for adapter.
b. Connect scale to computer using AJ-MBS serial cable.
i. Scale should be powered off and unplugged before connecting to computer
ii. Using AJ-MBS serial cable - connect scale DIN5 connector to DB9M on computer.
c. Plug in scale power cable and turn on scale.
i. The scale initializes, a weight value is seen on the scale display, the scale output is continuously
d. Optional - Step 2.d – Validate scale to computer by COM link (see Appendix B).

3) Step 3 – Using Scale with MBS Software by COM.
a. If returning to this step, after CTS COM testing in Appendix B, check that CTS is closed.
b. Setup MBS software COM link – following MBS software manufacturer instructions.
i. Set the COM/RS232 setting in MBS software to match scale
c. The MBS software should now be ready for use with the scale.
i. The weigh entry fields in the MBS software will be continuously updated with weight.
d. If scale weigh data is not seen in MBS software...
i. Proceed to Appendix B for CTS Test 1 and CTS Test 2 – if not already done so.
ii. If scale to MBS software link by COM is still not working – contact your service provider
