Table 1, "FC Configuration Options," shows the options available for configuring native FC drives:

Screen Option Description
Port 0 Control Used to specify the method for setting the
Arbitrated Loop Physical Address (ALPA). When
Hard Address is selected, the Port 0 ID button is
enabled to select a valid Loop ID.
Port 0 Loop ID Specifies the Loop ID that the tape drive uses as
the ALPA for Port 0. To activate, Port 0 Control
must be set to Hard Address.
World Wide Port 0 Name Default uses the factory-configured WWPN while
Custom allows you to customize the Port 0 name.
Port 1 Control Used to specify the method for setting the ALPA.
When Hard Address is selected, the Port 1 ID
button is enabled to select a valid Loop ID.
Port 1 Loop ID Specifies the Loop ID that the tape drive uses as
the ALPA for Port 1. To activate, Port 1 Control
must be set to Hard Address.
World Wide Port 1 Name Default uses the factory-configured WWPN while
Custom allows you to customize the Port 1 name.
World Wide Node Name Default uses the factory-configured WWPN while
Custom allows you to customize the device
name.
Topology Used to specify the topology used by the fibre
channel ports.
Speed Used to specify the link speed used by the fibre
channel ports.
Directory Registration Used to control whether additional registrations
are performed prior to RFC4 after a drive fabric
login.
With this bit set to Yes, the following additional
registrations are performed: Register Node Name
(RNN), Register Port Name (RPN) and Register
Class of Service (RCS). With this bit set to No, no
additional registrations are done.

Fibre Channel LTO-3 Drive Assembly
Overview & Notes
Introduction
IMPORTANT: Overland Storage requires that all NEO 8000
drives be installed or replaced by an Overland Storage
authorized service provider. Improper installation may result in
damage to the part or appliance which voids existing
warranties.
The following describes how to add a new LTO-3 drive or
remove and replace an existing LTO-3 drive from an
Overland Storage NEO 8000 library. When adding a new
drive, it is necessary to also configure the cabling.
Tape drives are mounted inside individual drive
assemblies that are located at the rear of the library.
These assemblies feature LiveSwap™ technology which
permits a drive to be removed and replaced while the other
drives and the library robotics remain active.
WARNING: System power in the library does not
completely shut off using the Graphical User
Interface (GUI) touch screen. To reduce the risk of
electric shock or damage to the equipment,
disconnect power from the library by unplugging
the power cords.

IMPORTANT: New drives must be installed in sequence using
the numbering located above the drive bay opening. For
example, when adding a third drive, insert it into the drive bay
labeled "3."
1. Remove the upper and lower retaining screws (see
Figure 1) that secure the blank panel cover plate to the
drive opening where you plan to install the new drive.
2. Keep the panel cover plate for future use.

Carefully unpack the drive assembly kit and verify that
you have all the parts:

Electrostatic Discharge Information
A discharge of static electricity can damage static-
sensitive devices or micro-circuitry. Proper packaging and
grounding techniques are necessary precautions to
prevent damage. To prevent electrostatic damage, observe
the following precautions:
• Transport products in static-safe containers such as
conductive tubes, bags, or boxes.
• Keep electrostatic-sensitive parts in their containers
until they arrive at static-free stations.
• Cover the library with approved static-dissipating
material. Provide a wrist strap connected to the work
surface and properly grounded tools and equipment.
• Keep the work area free of non-conductive materials,
such as plastic assembly aids and foam packing.
• Make sure you are always properly grounded when
touching a static-sensitive component or assembly.
• Avoid touching pins, leads, or circuitry.
• Use conductive field service tools.
