IMPORTANT
When replacing tires, it is advisable to use a high
quality type and make.
Tire pressure must be measured when the tires
are cold.
Removal and Refitting
The motorbike is equipped with light-alloy rims (California
EV, Special 1
series) or with steel rims (California Special
st
2
series, Special Sport, Jackal and Stone)
nd
For the above procedures, it is therefore advisable to use
iron tools which do not have grooves and sharp edges
on the parts which come into contact with the edge of the
rim.
The contact surface must be wide, well smoothed and
with suitably rounded edges; using one of the special,
commercially available lubricants will help the tire slide
into and bed-in on the rim during disassembly and
reassembly, and it will eliminate the need to heavily load
the iron tools; for this reason, it is also very important that
the tiresʼ bead heels are well set in the rimʼs central
channel.
Observe the rotation direction indicated by the arrow on
the tire side when assembling the tires.
