    1. General Information 1.1 Getting started This manual is for the M90S series UPS. It can help service personel perform the basic maintenance and repair service. This manual only focuses on the service section, so you should get the basic operation of the UPS from the user manual, and make sure you have read and understood the user manual before reading the manual.

Functional block As a true online UPS, the product employs a double conversion topology, comprise following functional blocks, as shown in Figure 3.1. Figure 3.1 function block diagram The CNTL block controls the action of the UPS system, the CNTL also provi des the communication interface for receiving and executing command from user via the panel or other communication protocol.

    M90S Service Manual Uninterruptible Power Supply 4. Working principle of the major functional block 4.1 Switch Power Supply The switch power supply (SPS) supplies DC power for UPS operation. The input voltage of the SPS is the battery or AC input voltage.

    M90S Service Manual Uninterruptible Power Supply 4.2 PFC/Boost circuit Figure 4.2 Boost circuit topology As shown in the Figure 4.2, when Q1/Q2 are on, and D1/D2 are off, the choke (L1/L2) will store energy and the current following through the choke will increase as time passes. When the Q1/Q2 are off, the choke releases energy and the D1/D2 are on, the current of the choke will decrease as time passes.

    M90S Service Manual Uninterruptible Power Supply 4.4 Charger The Charger is to recharge and maintain the batteries at fully charged condition .The charger charges the batteries with a constant current at initial stage, and as battery voltage keeps increasing, the charge current decreases accordingly until the charge voltage reached the constant voltage level, and then the charger turns to the floating charge mode.

    BUS capacitor. When UPS works in Battery mode, the PFC will boost the battery voltage to higher DC BUS voltage.     After the UPS is connected to the utility power, the charger will charge the batteriies automatically except in Battery mode or during battery test, and the charge current can be set from 1A~4A via LCD or communication port.     The EMI board can protect the UPS from external electronic/magnetic noi se generated by other electronic systems, and also protect other systems from the noise generated inside the UPS system. Trouble Shooting 7.1 Warning status When Fault LED flashes and the buzzer beeps once every second, it means that there are some problems with UPS. Users can see the warning code from LCD panel and refer to the trouble shooting table to check what problem have probably happened.
