Engine Waste-heat and Engine pre-
heat Plumbing
Refer to figure 7-5: Engine heat/pre-heat system plumbing.
Hot coolant from the engine enters the Hurricane
connection labeled "Engine Supply" and returns to the engine from
the connection labeled "Engine Return". When the Hurricane
is connected to the engine, engine waste heat can be used to provide
space heating and hot water.
The Engine Heat Supply/Return connections are located on the back
®
of Hurricane
Zephyr and can be made using 1/2" MPT x 1/2" hose-
barb or 1/2" MPT x 3/4" hose-barb fittings.
If the pre-heat function is required an additional, externally
mounted, pump is installed. This pump circulates engine coolant
through the Hurricane
engine is turned OFF. A separate Engine Pre-Heat switch is required
to
activate
this
connections refer to figure 6-4 wiring schematic in Section 6, Wiring
the Electrical System.
It is recommended to contact the engine manufacturer prior to
proceeding with the engine plumbing installation.
