v If you install SAS connectivity modules , you must also install a SAS expansion
card option in each of the blade servers that will access the integrated shared
storage. You can install SAS or SATA hard disk drives in the storage modules.
v If you install SAS RAID controller modules, you must also install a SAS
expansion card option in each of the blade servers that will access the integrated
shared storage. In addition, you must install SAS hard disk drives in the storage
modules.

Removing a power module

You can remove a power module while the BladeCenter S system is powered on.
To remove it, open the release handle and slide the power module out of the
power module bay.
About this task
Attention:
v To maintain proper system cooling, do not operate the BladeCenter S system
without a power module or power module filler in each power module bay.
Install a power module or filler within one minute of the removal of a power
module.
v If you are removing a functioning power module, make sure that power LEDs
on the remaining power modules are lit and the power management policy you
have chosen supports the removal of the power module. If not, shut down the
operating systems and turn off all of the blade servers, before you proceed. (See
the documentation that comes with the blade server for instructions for shutting
down the blade server operating system and turning off the blade server.)
