5-9. Adjusting the presser foot

(1) Adjusting the presser foot position
Decrease
1) Loosen adjusting screw ❶ and screw ❼ of the presser foot.
2) Move the presser foot ❻ so that the groove of the presser foot can align with the groove of the throat
plate. Also the bottom of the presser foot can stand on the throat plate flatly and then tighten the screw ❼ .
3) Loosen the screw ❺ and move ❹ left and right so that ❸ can match ❷ and ❷ can move upward and
downward smoothly. Then, tighten the screw ❺ .
4) To adjust to a proper pressure: turn the screw ❶ clockwise will increase the pressure, whereas turn it
counter clockwise will decrease the pressure.
When you carry out adjustment work with the presser foot lifting arm removed, the sewing ma-
chine can start running if the sensor is blocked by mistake if you have not turned OFF the pow-
er switch. To prevent such an abrupt start of the sewing machine, it is necessary to turn OFF
the power to the sewing machine before starting adjustment work.
