Section 1: Product Description

The SFP-2402 is a two zone FACP (Fire Alarm Control Panel) and the SFP-2404 is a four zone
FACP. The information in this manual refers to both the SFP-2402 and SFP-2404 unless otherwise
specified. These control panels provide reliable fire signaling protection for small to medium sized
commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. The FACP is compatible with System Sensor's
i
3
detectors which are microprocessor-based conventional smoke detectors that can transmit a
maintenance trouble signal to the FACP indicating the need for cleaning and a supervisory 'freeze'
signal when the ambient temperature falls below the detector rating (refer to System Sensor's i
Installation and Maintenance Instructions document I56-1800-00 for device specifications). In
addition, the control panel is compatible with conventional input devices such as two-wire smoke
detectors, four-wire smoke detectors, pull stations, waterflow devices, tamper switches and other
normally-open contact devices. Refer to the Notifier Device Compatibility Document for a
complete listing of compatible devices.
Outputs include one NAC (Notification Appliance Circuit) on the SFP-2402 and two NACs on the
SFP-2404. Each FACP has a Form-C Alarm and Trouble relay and 24 VDC special application
resettable power. In addition, the SFP-2404 has a Form-C Supervisory relay and a nonresettable
special application power output. The FACP supervises wiring, AC voltage and battery level.
Activation of a compatible smoke detector or any normally-open fire alarm initiating device will
activate audible and visual signaling devices, illuminate an indicating LED, sound the piezo
sounder at the FACP, activate the FACP alarm relay and operate an optional module used to notify
a remote station or initiate a auxiliary control function. The SFP-2402E and SFP-2404E offer the
same features as the SFP-2402 and SFP-2404 but allows connection to 220/240 VAC.
NOTE: Unless otherwise specified, the terms SFP-2402 and SFP-2404 are used in this manual
to refer to the SFP-2402 and SFP-2402E as well as the SFP-2404 and SFP-2404E FACPs
respectively.
