TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
Nothing happens
when the scan button
is pulled.
LED comes on, but
bar code is not
decoded.
Bar code is decoded
but not transmitted
to the host.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
No power to the
imager.
Interface or
power cables are
loose.
Imager not
programmed for
correct bar code
type.
Bar code label is
unreadable.
Distance between
reader and bar
code is incorrect.
Imager not
programmed for
the correct host
type.
Troubleshooting
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Check system power.
Ensure power supply
is connected.
Ensure all cable
connections are
secure.
Ensure reader is
programmed to read
the type of bar code
scanned. Refer to the
PRG for more
information.
Check the label to
ensure it is not
defaced. Try to scan
another bar code type.
Move imager closer to
or further from the bar
code.
Scan the appropriate
host type bar code.

more information.
