V. Patient positioning
Danger of injury!
If the table top width is not sufficient for an
ergonomic position, the patient may be injured.
The table width extenders (1001.75A0/ 76A0) can
be mounted on the side rails to ensure an
ergonomic patient position.
Only one infusion stand (1009.01C0), one
anaesthesia screen (1002.57A0), one wristlet
(1002.24C0) and one arm protector (1002.25A0)
may be mounted to the table width extenders
(1001.75A0/76A0).
When positioning the patient, be sure to observe
that the patient is lying above the centre of the
column in the lateral direction (see sketch).
Danger of injury!
It is not permissible to mount another width ex-
tender to a table width extender (1001.75A0 /
76A0).

The nursing staff must prevent risks to breath-
ing, nerves and circulation by careful positioning
and observation of the patient.
Danger of injury!
Watch the patient permanently while adjusting
the knee crutches.
Danger of operating table tipping over!
Lock the operating table before transferring the
patient! Press the LOCK key!
Note:
After standstills, actuate the table functions to check
proper functioning before positioning the patient.
Press the function keys table top up/down, Trende-
lenburg/reverse Trendelenburg, lateral tilt left/right,
back plate up/down, leg plates up/down, for 2 to 3
seconds each. Finally, press the Level key (z) to
align the operating table horizontally.
The functions of the cable-connected hand con-
trol are described on page 9.
Note:
Depending on the patient weight, the speed of the
motor-powered adjustment functions will change.
The speed of the downward movements will slightly
increase.
The adjustment speed will be reduced during up-
ward movements.
