Caution: Use caution when working around the hard drive backplane. Do not touch the
backplane with any metal objects and make sure no ribbon cables touch the backplane or
obstruct the holes, which aid in proper airflow.
Caution: Regardless of how many hard drives are installed, all drive carriers must remain in
the drive bays to maintain proper airflow.

Hard Drive Carrier Indicators

Each hard drive carrier has two LED indicators: an activity indicator and a status indicator. In
RAID configurations, the status indicator lights to indicate the status of the drive. In non-RAID
configurations, the status indicator remains off. See the table below for details.
