5. Remove oil level plug and pour rec-
ommended oil into the fill plug hole
until level with bottom of oil level
plug opening (refer to illustration
OHA018 above).
6. Install fill plug and tighten to 16 ft-lb
(21.8 N-m).
Transaxle Lubricant
Change
Inspect and change the lubricant accord-
ing to the Maintenance Schedule. When
changing the lubricant, use the appropri-
ate lubricant and use the following proce-
dure:
NOTE: The fill plug is located on
the front right side of the transaxle.
1. Place the vehicle on level ground;
then remove the fill plug.
2. Remove lower-right A-arm nuts and
bolts and drop the A-arm.
3. Remove drain plug using the access
hole in the A-arm bracket. Drain the
oil into a drain pan under the cutout in
the skid plate. Clean away any debris
that may have accumulated onto the
magnetic end of the plug.
4. After the oil has been drained, install
the drain plug and tighten to 16 ft-lb
(21.8 N-m).
Inspect the oil for any signs of metal fil-
ings or water. If found, take the vehicle
to an authorized dealer for servicing.
5. Add Synthetic Transaxle Fluid with
EP into the fill plug hole. The lubri-
cant level should be approximately
level with the bottom of the fill plug
hole threads.
6. Install the fill plug and tighten to
16 ft-lb (21.8 N-m).
7. Re-install lower right A-arm.
NOTE: The manufacturer recom-
mends the use of manufacturer-
OHA022
approved lubricants.

Hydraulic Hand Brake

Be sure to inspect the hydraulic
brake
Always maintain brakes according to
the Maintenance Schedule.

Brake Fluid

Check the brake fluid level in the brake
fluid reservoir. If the level in the reser-
voir is not visible in the sight glass, add
OHA021
DOT 4 brake fluid.
