The press may only be operated by staff who have read this manual carefully and fully
understood its contents.
The press may only be operated by staff who are qualified to do so, have been duly instructed
to do so and are in good health.
Please familiarise yourself with the operating manual and the functionality of the press before
using it.
Regularly clean paper/film residue from the interior of the press, especially from the
compacting ram. This will prevent the ram from jamming or becoming overstrained.
Emergency escape routes near the press must be kept clear, so that personnel can quickly
leave the endangered area if a dangerous situation arises.
Fires must be extinguished in accordance with local fire safety regulations. In the event of an
emergency, the local fire brigade should be called.

6. Commissioning the press

First, read the operating manual thoroughly. Pay particular attention to the safety information in
Section 5.4.
Please note that the compressed air pressure at the press (upstream of the pressure
regulator) should be no greater than 10 bar. The correct operating pressure for the press is 6-
8 bar.
Please use the pressure regulator to increase or reduce the incoming air pressure to an
operating pressure of 6-8 bar at the press.
Check to make sure that the two rolls of baling twine supplied have been placed in the two
canisters at the top of the press.
Pull the ends of each length of twine down the back of the press and pass them through the
small openings at the rear and into the interior of the press.
Now open the lower door (two latches at the side) and pull the baling twine on the inside
down and through the door to the outside so that the twine rests loosely on the press base
plate.
Now close the door again and fasten the latches.
CAUTION!
When the latches of the lower door are unfastened, the compacting ram rises automatically. Only then
can the lower door be opened fully (safety lock).
Next, place the ends of the twine over the hooks at the front of the door and fasten the ends
to the hooks with a loop.
The press can then be loaded with waste masking paper or film:
CAUTION!
The upper loading hatch can only be opened (safety lock) when the compacting ram is fully raised. To
do so, lift the lid of the loading hatch slightly. The compacting ram is now raised pneumatically, and
the lid lock is released when the ram is fully raised.
The loading hatch lid can now be fully opened. The compacting ram is locked in its fully raised
position.
