5. General safety precautions and accident prevention measures

Please read the following instructions carefully. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury
to the operators, other persons or animals or damage to property. E.M.M. International rejects all
claims for compensation in respect of damage resulting from failure to observe the safety precautions
and accident prevention measures set out below. Similarly, E.M.M. International BV rejects all claims
for compensation resulting from improper use of the press and/or modifications to the press made
without the approval of the manufacturer.

5.1 Risk assessment

A risk assessment relating to the installation and operation of the press is available on request from
EMM International.

5.2 Clothing

The operator of the press must wear protective gloves in order to prevent their hands from
coming into contact with paint-covered masking paper or masking film while
loading/unloading.
The operator must wear suitable protective clothing while loading/unloading.

5.3 Environment and disposal

The baled masking paper or masking film must be transferred for recycling in strict
accordance with local regulations.
At the end of its service life, the press must be disposed of in accordance with the regulations
prevailing in the country in which it was installed.

5.4 Instructions for safe use

The press was developed solely for use as a baling press for masking paper, lightweight
cardboard and masking film.
Make sure that either paper or plastic film is being baled. Avoid mixing the two, because
problems may otherwise arise during disposal, since they are two different waste products.
Wear suitable protective clothing when operating the press.
