Paper Catalog

Paper Catalog
Paper Catalog is a system-based paper warehouse database that stores attributes of any media available for printing
from the imagePRESS Server.
Paper Catalog allows you to define custom catalog entries based on any combination of attributes. You can
customize any of the media attributes that are available for a catalog entry. You can then select media for your job
from those listed in the Paper Catalog interface. You can also define media entries on the printer. Media entries are
synchronized so that the same media are displayed on both the printer control panel and in Paper Catalog.

Installing Paper Catalog

Paper Catalog is installed by default with Command WorkStation.
For information about installing and configuring Command WorkStation, see
Installing Command Workstation
on
page 14.

instructions on how to access the Help, see
Using Command WorkStation
on page 15.

Using Paper Catalog

Information on using the standard Paper Catalog features in provided in the Paper Catalog section of the Command
WorkStation Help.
Additional information on using Paper Catalog features not described in the help is provided below.

Configuring Paper Catalog

You must log on with Administrator privileges to configure and edit Paper Catalog entries and settings.
Note: The Paper Catalog Administrator interface can only be used by one user at a time.

Creating a new entry with A4/Letter size or smaller

The media library on the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP/C8000VP has a feeding direction attribute which must be
specified correctly in Paper Catalog.
If you want to print a job that requires landscape orientation and short edge feed (SEF), you must create the media
entry in Paper Catalog and specify SEF. For example, if you want to print a saddle stitched job to a user-defined
paper, you must create a new media entry and specify the feed direction for the user-defined paper as SEF. Note that
when creating a new media entry, you are specifying other attributes as well, not only the feed direction.
