Introduction G8-TEL / G3-TEL Introduction The telephone interfaces G3-TEL (left) and G8-TEL (right) The telephone interfaces G3-TEL (for GE 300) and G8-TEL (for GE 800) can be used for the following functions: Audio-dialler mode ( see page 9 The auto-dialler mode can be used to transfer call requests and input messages (control desk calls) to the public telephone network.

G8-TEL / G3-TEL Installation Installation G8-TEL The G8-TEL is designed for the Intercom Server GE 800. The card can be inserted into the slots “1” to “14”. Connection board G8A-TEL For installing the G8-TEL into the Intercom Server GE 800, the connection board G8A-TEL has to be used (included in extent of supply).
Information on start-up G8-TEL / G3-TEL Information on start-up Speech control A conversation between a telephone and an Intercom station can be held in duplex, full duplex (by default) or simplex mode. Operate simplex mode using the telephone Press the button “*” to toggle between the talk and listen mode (press “*” to talk; press “*” a 2nd time to listen).
G8-TEL / G3-TEL Auto-dialler mode Auto-dialler mode In auto-dialler mode, a call from an Intercom station or an input message will be transferred to a pre- defined call number. If the call is not answered by this telephone or if the telephone is busy, the call will be transferred to another call number after a configurable time.

Auto-dialler mode G8-TEL / G3-TEL Examples for the call procedure In the following two examples, the difference of the call procedures via dialling interface and a call request and/or input message is shown. The optional points require an appropriate configuration in CCT 800.
G8-TEL / G3-TEL Auto-dialler mode Incoming call from the telephone to the Intercom system Initiate call The telephone interface can be called from any telephone in the telephone network. Afterwards, the telephone receives the location message. After the location message, the call has to be accepted with the 1- to 4-digit code (“#” by default). Afterwards, Intercom functions can be carried out, e.g.

Auto-dialler mode G8-TEL / G3-TEL Activate the radio button Auto Dialler Mode. In the field Password outgoing, enter a 1- to 4-digit code with which the call shall be taken over at a telephone. NOTE: No password for outgoing and incoming calls If no password is configured in the fields Password outgoing and Password incoming, no pre- recorded audio files and location messages will be played back.

For the inputs, a dialling simulation has to be configured with the following code: Enter “XX9T99” and the number of the dialling sequence (e.g. “XX9T992” to activate dialling “sequence 2”).

G8-TEL / G3-TEL PABX mode Define a range of numbers via wildcards To simplify the configuration in CCT 800, it is possible to define a range of phone numbers as “wild- cards” (see “Configure PABX mode” on page 24). Per wildcard, max. 41 entries are possible. The tele- phone numbers included by those wildcards can be dialled at the Intercom stations as explained at “Phone call by dialling the telephone interface manually”...
