AWS310-SITE RWCC Integration Guide M212071EN-C • With hot filling material, use a duct of robust material, such as stainless steel, from the road or runway edge to the sensor. Plastic ducting may start cracking when the road or runway is resurfaced. The material must also be resistant to de-icing and other chemicals.
  • Page 41 Chapter 4 – Installation CAUTION! Keep the cut within the given dimensions. The wider the slot, the more filling material is needed and the higher the risk of cracking. A wide slot may also affect the thermal characteristics of the road or runway surface and cause poor thermal contact to the road or the runway.
