Structure and use of the motor control units
4.1 Areas of application
   
The podis
motor control units switch and protect three-phase
asynchronous motors with a maximum capacity of 1.1 kW
(frequency inverter up to 0.75 kW). The distributed control is
carried out via integrated PROFIBUS couplers.
The motor control units are available in the following versions:
1)
MC2M (Motor Contactors for 2 Motors) for switching 2 x
three-phase asynchronous motors separately with one
direction of travel.
2)
MRC (Motor Reverse Contactor) for clockwise and anti-
clockwise rotation of the motors.
3)
MFI (Motor Frequency Inverter) with frequency inverter
for operation of three-phase asynchronous motors with
variable speed.
The motor control units consist of the following components:
1)
Base plate
2)
Motor starter and
3)
Bus coupler.
All motor control units also have 8 digital channels and a
connection option for the bus system.
Sockets for rapid connection are available for the motor
feeders. The power electronics (motor starter) as well as the
bus interface electronics (bus coupler) can likewise be plugged
in.
The setting of the motor parameters is described in section 6.6
"Parameterisation".
