2.3.Countermeasures against dust

Dust
This product is designed for indoor use only.
When using it outdoor, or at dusty places, such as railway
station, take some countermeasures against dust.
Refer to the countermeasure below before installation.
Damages
Dust may get under the LCD panel from the gaps and it may
spoil the image (as below), and may cause failures.
Prevent any dust exposure construction work near
the wall mounted display.
Countermeasure
Create a completely sealed casing.
It can shut off dust and enables installation in dusty places, outdoor,
and a place where salt damage might be occurred.
The temperature in the sealed casing would be higher.
Countermeasures against the heat are required, such as installing a
heat exchanger or an air conditioner.
*To maintain the quality of the casing, regular maintenance is needed.
Confidential
Dust coming from under the LCD
panel damaged the image quality.

Precautions for using anti-dust display
When using a display casing, mount an anti-dust air filter.
Precautions for Anti-dust air filter
- Double filter makes its life longer by replacing the finer screen pre-
filter.
- A filter increases the air resistance.
It may raise the internal temperature of the casing.
Reduce the air resistance by using larger filter.
- The following points should be taken care of in designing the casing
with intake/exhaust fan.
Intake fan:
The advantage: The casing inside is kept under positive pressure so
the dust is not drawn into.
The disadvantage: It is difficult to pull much air into the casing due to
the air resistance (when using in dusty place).
Exhaust fan:
The advantage: It is easy to control the temperature in the cabinet.
(when using in less dusty place and in severe temperature
environment).
The disadvantage: The casing inside is kept under negative pressure,
so the dust is drawn into through the vents and cracks.
*Filters must be cleaned frequently to keep good performance,
Intake fan
Pressure within cabinet will
be high, preventing dust from
entering through small gaps.
Exhaust fan
Pressure within cabinet will
be low, making dust drawn in
through small gaps.
