9 Verify/Make Changes to Drive Partition
Structure (MBR vs GPT)
System acceleration with Intel® Optane™ memory devices is only supported with drives that are formatted with the GPT
(GUID Partition Table) partition structure.
Depending on how your system's operating system was originally installed, this structure may be the Legacy MBR (Master
Boot Record) supported on previous Windows versions.
Use the information below to:

Verify the current Structure drive to be accelerated

Process to convert Structure to GPT (if needed)

Verify Current Drive Partition Structure
1.
Boot into Windows
2.
Open Disk Manager (Windows +x key, then click Disk Manager)
3.
Locate the disk that you want to accelerate (Image below is an example of a primary system boot disk)

Right-click the disk shown as (Disk x, Basic, Capacity, Online) on the left (for example, where it says Disk 0 in this
image).
5.
Select Properties

Click the Volumes tab
7.
Here you can confirm the Partition style

If MBR, continue on to Section 9.2
