Chapter 5
C. Belt Motor Driver PCB
1) Check the cable connection between the belt
motor driver PCB and the ADF controller PCB.
- If the cable is connected correctly, go to step 3).
- If the cable is not connected correctly, go to step
2).
2) Connect the cable correctly.
If no improvement is noted, go to step 3).
3) Replace the belt motor drive PCB.
If no improvement is noted, replace the ADF
controller PCB.

Check the following in the indicated sequence:
delivery motor (M5), delivery motor clock sensor (PI
11).
A. Delivery Motor (M5)
1) Set the DIP switch (SW1) on the ADF controller
PCB as shown.
F-5-131
2) Press the push switch (SW2). (To stop, press the
push switch once again.)
- If the delivery motor rotates, go to B. "Delivery
Motor Clock Senor (PI 11)."
- If the delivery motor does not rotate, go to step
3).
3) Replace the deliver motor.
If you have replaced the delivery motor, be sure to
perform the instructions under "Adjusting the
Sensors and the Delivery Motor."
If no improvement is noted, go to B. "Delivery
Motor Clock Sensor (PI 11)."
B. Delivery Motor Clock Sensor (PI 11)
1) Bring in a tester, and set its test range to 10 VDC.
2) Turn the delivery motor by hand, and check the
voltage between connectors "J3-2 (+)" and "J3-1
(-)".
- If the voltage alternates between 0 and 5 V, go to
step 3).
- If the voltage does not alternate between 0 and 5
V, go to step 4).
3) Replace the ADF controller PCB.
4) Replace the delivery motor clock sensor.

Check Separation Motor (M4) and then Separation
Motor Clock Sensor (PI 2).
A. Separate Motor (M4)
1) Set DIP switch (SW1) on ADF Controller PCB as
shown in a figure.
5-40
2) Press push switch (SW2). (Press push switch
again when you want to stop it.)
- Separation motor is rotating: Go to "B.
Separation Motor Clock Sensor (PI 2)."
- Separation motor is not rotating: Go to the step 3.
3) Remove a connector (J8) on ADF Controller PDB.
4) Prepare a tester, and set the test range as x1 ohm.
5) Contact a lead rod of the tester to the connector on
0012-8908
the cable side, and check the resistor value.
- When the resistor value is about 5.0 ohm: Go to
"B. Separation Motor Clock Sensor (PI 2)."
- When the resistor value is not about 5.0 ohm: Go
to the step 6.
6) Replace Separation Motor.
If the condition is not improved, go to "B. Separation
Motor Clock Sensor (PI 2)."
B. Separation Motor Clock Sensor (PI 2)
1) Prepare a tester, and set the test range as 10 VDC.
2) Rotate Separation Motor with your hand, and
check voltage between "J12-5(+)" connector and
"J12-4(-)" connector on ADF Controller PCB.
- The voltage is alternately changed 0V and 5V:
Go to the step 3.
- The voltage is not alternately changed 0V and
5V: Go to the step 4.
3) Replace ADF Controller PCB.
4) Replace Separation Motor Clock Sensor.
