(SW301) may be faulty.
4) Press the push switch (SW2) on the ADF
controller PCB to end the operation.

5.3.4.5 Resetting the Backup RAM

1) Remove the ADF controller cover [2].
- 1 screw [1]

2) Set the DIP switch (SW1) on the ADF controller
PCB as shown.

3) Press the push switch (SW2) on the ADF
controller PCB so that the machine will be in
backup RAM reset mode.
-> DSP1 goes off.
4) Press the push switch (SW3) 5 times in
succession.
-> DSP1 indicates '0', and then the indication
becomes reverse video.

5.4 Troubleshooting

5.4.1 Error Code

5.4.1.1 E402 display lamp

Check the following in the indicated sequence: belt
motor (M2), belt motor clock sensor (PI 1), belt
motor driver PCB.
A. Belt Motor (M2)
1) Set the DIP switch (SW1) on the ADF controller
PCB as shown.
2) Press the push switch (SW2). (To stop, press the
push switch once again.)
- If the belt motor rotates, go to B. "Belt Motor
Clock Sensor (PI 1)."
- If the belt motor does not rotate, go to step 3).
3) Replace the belt motor.
If no improvement is noted, go to B. "Belt Motor
Clock Sensor (PI 1)."
B. Belt Motor Clock Sensor (PI 1)
1) Bring in a tester, and set its test range to 10 VDC.
2) Turn the belt motor by hand, and check the voltage
between connectors "J12-2 (+)" and "J12-1 (-)" on
the ADF controller PCB.
- If the voltage alternates between 0 and 5 V, go to
C. "Belt Motor Driver PCB."
- If the voltage does not alternate between 0 and 5
V, go to step 3).
3) Replace the belt motor clock sensor.
If no improvement is noted, go to C. "Belt Motor
Driver PCB."
