Aduro Hybrid Stoves controlling Aduro DraftOptimizer
If you use the Aduro Hybrid Stove with the Aduro DraftOptimizer (ADO) you have three options:
1. You can control the ADO manually – either by the potentiometer that comes with the ADO or by the remote
control, which you buy separately. In the beginning you need to find the setting that fits your installation best
and this can take few days of experimenting.
2. We recommend using the same settings as the Hybrid Stove needs stable draft. There can be changes in the
weather, where you might have to adjust the power of ADO. In the winter the natural draft is strong, which
means ADO can be set at lower settings, then in the spring or autumn where its normally higher temp outside
and the natural draft is lower and here there is a need to have higher ADO settings/Increase power.
3. You can let the Aduro Hybrid stove control the Aduro draft optimizer automatically.
If you choose option, no 3 the Aduro Hybrid stove will start the ADO when the stove is in pellet mode. If you switch
from pellets to wood mode, the stove will keep the ADO running until smoke temperature is below 50 degrees C. If
you want help from the ADO only in the start phase of the combustion when igniting wood logs you can switch the
Aduro Hybrid stove to pellet position and after one minute stop the pellet function. This will start the fan and the ADO
for 5 minutes.
Important:
If you light the stove manually in wood mode, the stove will not automatically start the ADO. This can cause damage
to the ADO if you have high smoke temperature and no cooling of the ADO (the ADO is cooling when running).
Therefore, we recommend lighting the stove in pellet mode (also if you put wood logs in the stove from start-up). You
can later always stop the pellets mode and the ADO will continue to run.
If your electricity is out and you use your Aduro Hybrid stove in wood mode, there are no electricity to run the ADO. In
normal installations, this is no problem as the ADO without any cooling can resist temperatures inside the engine up to
60 degrees C. Smoke temperature mixed with air in the ADO is normally below 60 degrees. Only with a very short
steel chimney (under 3 meter) you will damage the ADO.
Option 3: Aduro Hybrid stove controlling the ADO.
The third option is to let the Aduro hybrid control the ADO by following the steps described in the pictures below. Once
the ADO is on the chimney and everything is installed, the last thing you need to do is to cut off the end of the power
plug as shown on the picture below.
