4.4 Operating side rails

WARNING!
Risk of entrapment or suffocation
There's a risk of entrapment or suffocation
between mattress support, side rail and bed end.
– Always ensure correct fitting and tightening of
the side rails.
WARNING!
Risk of falling
– Never leave the user unattended in the bed
with the side rail down.
– Make sure the side rail is in its highest position
and properly locked while leaving the user
unattended.
CAUTION!
If the side rail is not locked properly it can fall
down.
– Pull/push the top bar of the side rail to ensure
that the locking system is properly engaged.
CAUTION!
Risk of Injury
There is a risk of entrapment or squeezing while
operating the side rail.
– Pay attention to your fingers and body parts
of the patient.
– Never force or drop the side rail while handling
it.
Removable 3/4 length side rails
WARNING!
Risk of entrapment
There's a risk of entrapment or suffocation
between mattress support, side rail and bed end.
– When using removable side rails, always make
sure that the distance between the bed end
and the side rail's handle upper edge is less
than 6 cm in the head end and more than 32
cm in the foot end of the bed.

4.4.1 Verso II side rails

Folding down to open the side rail
1. Hold the top bar B with one hand and pull the locking
button A with the other hand.
2. Pull the top bar sidewards and release the locking
button.
3. Fold the side rail down to its lowest position.

Folding up to close the side rail
1. Pull the top bar B and raise the side rail until it is
properly engaged in the locking system.
CAUTION!
If the side rail is not properly locked it can fall
down.
– Pull/push the top bar of the side rail to ensure
that the locking system is properly engaged.

4.4.2 Diana side rail

Operating the side rail
Always stand in the middle of the side rail, when
moving it up and down, to ensure that both sides
move evenly. If not, the side rail can get stuck. To
unlock it, pull/push it slightly up-/downwards to level
the side rail again.
Move the side rail up
1. Lift the side rail up until the locking pin is securely
pushed into a housing with an audible click.
2. Make sure the locking pin is securely pushed into a
housing.
3. Try moving the side rail up-/downwards to make sure
it is properly locked.
Move the side rail down
1.
Pull out the locking pins A on both sides and push the
side rail down, slowly.
WARNING!
Risk of squeezing
There is a risk of getting trapped between the
extended tubes on the side rail B and the floor
or getting squeezed while moving the side rail
up and/or down.
– Be careful while lowering the side rail.

4.4.3 Flora side rail

The Flora side rail is only compatible with Camila bed ends.
