Eaton 93PM Cabinet Seismic Tie Strap Installation Instructions
Use these instructions to install cabinet top and rear seismic tie straps to secure the Uninterruptible Power
Supply (UPS) and Sidecar Integrated Accessory Cabinet (SIAC), and when installed in a line-up-and-match
configuration the Integrated Battery Cabinets (IBCs) and Integrated Accessory Cabinets (IACs).
Seismic Tie Straps (part of Seismic Mounting Bracket Kit)
Top Tie Strap (Only provided with UPS kits. Strap is provided as standard with IACs. and IBCs)
Rear Tie Strap
To install the tie straps:
1.
Unload and mechanically install the UPS and IBCs, and if applicable IACs, according to the instructions in
the applicable installation and operation manual.
2.
Remove the screws along each adjacent cabinet top panel securing the top panels (see Figure 1). Retain
the hardware for later use.
3.
Install top tie strap between each UPS, IBC, IAC, and SIAC (see Figure 1). Secure the tie strap with
retained hardware.
4.
If the long rear shipping bracket (tie strap) is installed between the UPS and an SIAC and no
line-up-and-match IBC or IAC is installed, proceed to Step 7; otherwise, proceed to Step 5.
5.
Remove the screws along each adjacent cabinet (UPS, SIAC, IBC, or IAC) rear panel securing the cabinet
rear panels (see Figure 1). Retain the hardware for later use.
6.
Install rear tie strap between each UPS, IBC, IAC, and SIAC (see Figure 1). Ensure strap is installed at the
top of the cabinet. Secure the tie strap with retained hardware.
7 .
Installation is complete.
