- RAISING AND USING THE SAIL
- hoist the sail does not present any difficulties, however you should remember
that it will require slightly more effort than jib hanks on sail. This is due to the
extra friction in the groove on luff.
- attach the tack of genoa to drum, using the schackle included.
- attach the head of sail to halyard swivel with the schackle included.
- attach a halyard to top of the halyard swivel and hoist.
- feed sail through the feeder and into groove of bottom section.
- hoist the sail slowly. It is not necessary to have as much halyard tension as with
a normal forestay.
- when your sail is fully hoisted, the halyard swivel should be no further than 5
cm from the top cap.
Choice of the diameter of the furling line:
R 80 - R 100
R 130 - R 150
R 200 - R 260 - R 290
Once the sail has been hoisted, it can be wrapped by hand (with the furling line)
around the forestay.
In most case, the line must be wrapped on the drum so that it rotates in a clockwise
direction when the sail is being furled. This will ensure that your sail's ultraviolet
protective cover is wrapped outside of your sail.
