11. Operation

11.1 Switching on

Observe the installation and operating instructions of
Caution
the measuring amplifier and final control element!
1. Open the sample water inlet (pos. J).
2. Switch on the measuring amplifier.
3. Switch on the final control element, if applicable.

11.2 After start-up

After a running time of about two hours the first measuring results
can be read.
The total running-in period is 24 hours. After that the measured
value is precise and stable.
After starting, the AQC-D4 preassembled system works fully
automatically.
In case of faults, such as lack of sample water or reagents, the
pumps are stopped.
1. Eliminate the cause of the faults.
2. Confirm the error message at the Conex
amplifier and controller by pressing [Esc] (see the installation
and operating instructions of the Conex
– Now the analyzer continues operating.

11.3 Adjusting the sample water flow

By increasing the sample water flow, the delay time

of the flow fitting can be reduced.
While adjusting the sample water flow, avoid

turbulent flow in the measuring water limitation (pos.
G).
If a sample water filter with PVC ball valve and pre-filter is
installed:
1. Open the ball valve.
2. Adjust the water flow with the adjusting spindle (pos. L) so
that only a small quantity of water overflows the ascending
pipe (pos. G) of the sample water limitation.
Integrated electronic measuring water adjustment:
Adjust the float body of the adjustment device (pos. L) at least
at the height of the sample water deficiency sensor (pos. I).

11.4 Switching off

Observe the installation and operating instructions of
Caution
the measuring amplifier and final control element!
11.4.1 Short-term stop (up to two weeks)
1. Close and/or switch off the final control element.
2. Switch off the measuring amplifier.
3. Close the sample water inlet (pos. J).
Do not drain the water! The electrodes are protected
Note
by remaining immersed in water.
11.4.2 Long-term stop
The flow fitting (pos. F) protects the electrodes from drying out,
when the sample water flow is interrupted. Thus, normally the
electrodes do not have to be removed.
During a long-term stop of the device (for example
seasonal operation), the electrodes should be
removed and fitted with the suitable protective caps.
Caution
The caps must be filled with 3-molar potassium
chloride solution (product number 96688696
(549-052)).
1. Close and/or switch off the final control element.
2. Switch off the measuring amplifier.
3. Close the sample water inlet (pos. J).
4. Remove the measuring electrode (E), clean and store dry.
5. Remove and clean the pH and redox electrodes, if applicable.
6. Fit protective caps on the electrodes. The protective caps
must be filled with 3-molar potassium chloride solution
(product number 96688696 (549-052)).
Observe the installation and operating instructions of the
electrodes!
7. Before re-commissioning and if it is very dirty, clean the
complete plexiglass flow fitting (pos. F).
