9.7 Electrical connections

Warning
Switch off the power supply before installing!
Observe the local safety regulations for electrical
installations.
1. Connect the electrodes to the measuring amplifier terminals.
2. Connect the sample water deficiency sensor to the
corresponding terminals of the measuring amplifier.
3. Connect the temperature sensor to the corresponding
terminals of the measuring amplifier.
4. Connect the measuring amplifier to the power supply
according to the wiring diagram. See section
diagram.
Observe the installation and operating instructions of
Caution
the measuring amplifier!

9.8 Checks prior to start-up

1. Check the whole system for leaks.
2. Check the electrical connections.
At first commissioning or after long-term stop:
Run in the system for at least two hours to avoid

faulty measurements and calibration!

9.9 Preparation of chemicals

The following chemicals are used:
Reagent A
91835799 (549-300), buffer solution: ready for use
Reagent B
91835800 (549-301), starting reagent 2: ready for use, or
96692053 (549-302.1), starting reagent 20: to be produced as
follows:
Production of starting reagent 20
Starting reagent 20 is supplied as a tank with starting reagent 2
(91835800 (549-301), 5 litres) and a container with potassium
iodide (48.1259, 250 g) which have to be mixed as follows:
1. Add the attached potassium iodide to the tank with starting
reagent 2.
2. Close the tank, and dissolve and mix the potassium iodide by
shaking.

9.10 Operating the Conex
First commissioning of the Conex
Select the operating language
Select the corresponding line using the [Up] or [Down] button,
and press [OK] to confirm.
Main menu (leaving initial display by pressing [OK])
Select "Setup" using the [Up] or [Down] button, and press [OK]
to confirm.
9.10.1 Setup
At first commissioning:
Code function: Enter the code numbers, if this is used:

Enter the code for full rights.
– allows access to all menus and functions for one hour.
Enter the code for calibration rights.
– allows access to calibration (CAL) and to manual operation
(MAN) for one hour.
If no code was entered before, all menus can be accessed
without restrictions and are not protected!
Press [OK] to return to the main menu and change again to the
"Setup" menu.
Afterwards:
If a code has been entered previously, enter the code for full
rights.
– access to all menus and functions for one hour.
Date/time: Set the actual time, if necessary.
Parameter: Select the "Chlorine" parameter.
– Select pH measurement, if necessary.
– Switch off pH compensation.
– Select temperature measurement/compensation, if
necessary.
Select measuring cell: AQC-D1.
Measuring range: Set the measuring range fitting to the
reagent:
– Starting reagent 2: 0 - 2.00 mg/l
– Starting reagent 20: 0 - 20.0 mg/l.
Current output: Set the current loops.
Select and configure the controller.
Sample water deficiency sensor: Switch on the sample water
deficiency sensor.
