Initial Inspection
1. Upon receiving, examine the unit for external
damage.
2. Check to be sure the intake filter and the cabinet
air filter are in place.
3. Plug the unit into an electrical outlet, turn the unit
'On,' and check the audible/visual alarms.
4. Set the flow meter at the maximum
recommended flow rate and allow the unit to run
for 20 minutes.
5. Using an oxygen analyzer, check the
concentration.
Preventive Maintenance Check
Perform the PM at the interval shown for each model
in the Service Interval Chart below. Use the Log on
the back to track PM:
1. Record Hours
2. Perform Purity Check – check with an oxygen
analyzer and record the oxygen percent
3. Check Audible Alert and Indicator Lights every 2
years
4. Inspect Filters and replace as necessary

Service and Maintenance Log
Between-Patient Maintenance
1. Discard oxygen tubing, cannula, & humidifier
bottle.
2. Wash or replace the cabinet air filter.
3. Wash the concentrator cabinet
4. Check oxygen concentration. If the unit falls within
specification, the intake bacteria filter does not
need to be replaced between patients.
Patient/Caregiver Maintenance
1. Oxygen tubing, cannula, and humidifier bottle -
clean daily.
2. Cabinet air filter - clean weekly
This PM Schedule assumes typical usage conditions below:

5000 hour usage per year

Normal, clean operating environment.
The homecare provider is responsible for:
•
determining the condition of the concentrator operating
environment
•
determining a preventive maintenance interval
takes into consideration the specific operating
environment.
Standard intervals are noted below. Service interval
may be more or less frequent than stated below
provided that the Home Care Provider establishes
and documents appropriate protocols.
