14 Troubleshooting

The Table 7 is intended to support troubleshooting. This table is not exhaustive.
Issues may occur in practice that are not listed here.
A control unit to which the sensor is connected can often detect errors by means
of the sensor signal. What type of errors are detected depends on the hardware
of the control unit used and the software running on the controller. The indication
or display of an error, e.g. via a display or a diagnostic tool, depends on the
machine concept. If necessary, observe the instruction manual of the control unit
manufacturer.

Incorrect or faulty voltage supply:
- Sensor supply voltage is missing.
- Sensor supply voltage is too low.
Troubleshooting | DSA
Remedy
Check the wiring and/or the wiring harness both at
the sensor connector and at the superior control.
Check the sensor for obvious damage:
Cracks in the housing, cracks in the connector
chamber, damage due to external mechanical
influence.
Measure the supply voltage at the contacts of the
sensor and make sure that all contacts in the mating
connector are correctly fitted and latched.
Make sure that the mating connector is connected to
the sensor until latching.
