  • Page 3 Technical Information: BRAVO INTRODUCTION This Technical Manual provides the technical information that corresponds to the range of BRAVO machines called that are destined for the elaboration of espresso coffee. These machines are designed to elaborate, with the best results, espresso coffee infusions, steam and hot water for other types of infusions.
  • Page 4 Technical Information: BRAVO Infusion: this is the process of forcing hot water through the ground coffee to extract the oils, aromas and essences. Volumetric infusion: when a constant, measured volume of water is used in the infusion process. Continuous infusion: when the volume of water that is used in the infusion process is controlled by the person elaborating the beverage.

Technical Information: BRAVO Cup warming tray The cups that are used to elaborate the espresso coffee are placed on this tray. The heat from the boiler rises to heat the cups; they are heated to a temperature of approximately 50º C. The objective of heating the cups is to avoid large thermal losses when serving the espresso coffee infusion.

Technical Information: BRAVO 10. Adjustable feet The machine has four feet. All of them are height adjustable and allow a maximum adjustment of 50 mm. The adjustment can be made by hand and also with a 13 mm spanner. 11. Tap for manually refilling the boiler If the machine is functioning correctly, the refilling of the water in the boiler is done automatically.

Technical Information: BRAVO The technician can manually move the probe up and down approximately 2 cm to achieve: ► more hot water and less steam (lifting the probe). ► more steam and less hot water (lowering the probe). 17. Volume meter This device counts the volume of water that is used in the infusion of the espresso coffees.
  • Page 19 Technical Information: BRAVO 18. Air flow regulator The air flow regulator is located in the accessory that can be installed in the machines to “froth” the milk in the process of making cappuccino coffees. The more the flow of air, the bigger the bubbles in the milk are.
  • Page 20 Technical Information: BRAVO Boiler and heat interchange boilers The water in the main boiler is used to provide steam and hot water for the elaboration of teas other infusions and beverages. Inside the main boiler there are as many heat interchange boilers as there are infusion groups on the machine.

  • Page 26 Technical Information: BRAVO elements; position 1 connects one element, position 2 connects two elements and position 3 connects three heating elements. Connecting 1, 2 or 3 heating elements does not change the overall power consumption for the premises where the machine is installed. The difference is only in how fast the boiler recuperates its water temperature in the boiler After 15 to 20 minutes, the boiler pressure gauge that measures the pressure of steam in the boiler will read between 0.9 and 1.1 kg/cm².
  • Page 27 Technical Information: BRAVO 3.2.5. Error messages indicated by the led diode The machines in the E and C range will flash the led diode on the machine when the water pump is functioning for more than 30 seconds and the circuit board does not receive a signal from the water level probe in the boiler to say it is full.
  • Page 28 Technical Information: BRAVO WORKING CONDITIONS and NORMS Optimum performance of this equipment is achieved by meeting the following requirements: Temperatures: Storage: from -25 to + 70ºC. Working: from +5 to +55ºC. Norms met: The machines meet the Directives of the EC: Directive 97/23/CEE related to steam boilers for espresso machines (Category 1, Module A), Directive 73/23/CEE of electrical safety and Directive 89/336/CEE of electromagnetic compatibility.
