  • Page 14: Electrostatic Discharge

TR-RT LED lighting controllers - User Manual The illustration below shows the dimensions of a TR-RT4xx controller: Electrostatic discharge Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage equipment and impair the electrical circuitry inside your TR-RT. ESD damage occurs when electronic components are improperly handled and can result in complete or intermittent failures.

TR-RT LED lighting controllers - User Manual Connections Section 12, Reference information for information about connection ratings Power supply In the unlikely event of a fault in the TR-RT, the maximum power dissipation in the unit can be: Power supply voltage x Max current delivered by power supply Either limit the power supply output current so that the TR-RT cannot dissipate more than 30W, or mount the unit in a fire enclosure.
  • Page 16 TR-RT LED lighting controllers - User Manual If you are using a light that is not triniti –enabled, ensure you set the current or voltage rating for the light before connecting it. See Section 8, Lighting setup for further details about this. Light output is on 5-way M12 sockets and this connector is shared with triniti sense lines.
  • Page 17: Trigger Inputs

TR-RT LED lighting controllers - User Manual TR-RT4xx Trigger inputs The trigger inputs are opto-isolated 3V to 24V input, drawing a minimum of 3mA. The table below describes the pin allocations for the TR-RT controllers’ trigger connectors: Note: All TR-RT controllers are fitted with Connector ET12. Connector ET34 is present on the TR-RT4xx series controllers.
  • Page 18: Power Output

TR-RT LED lighting controllers - User Manual 12V Power output TR-RT controllers have one 12V power supply output. It can supply up to 1A at 12V for powering cameras and other devices. Do not connect inductive loads or devices that take large peak currents. Do not exceed the current rating as these outputs are not fused.
  • Page 19: General Description

Gardasoft Vision. Controllers in the TR-RT series are set up using an Ethernet port or serial port. The set up is non-volatile, so the TR-RT resumes the same operation after a power cycle.

  • Page 21: Fault Detection

TR-RT LED lighting controllers - User Manual limits provided by the light are more demanding than the table above, then those limits will be overridden by the limits in the table. The duty cycle is limited by ignoring triggers which are too soon after the previous trigger.
  • Page 22: Cold Start

TR-RT LED lighting controllers - User Manual Comms error Reason number Current output is too low. This may be Err 21 because the light has become disconnected. The lighting required more than the Err 22 maximum available current for the voltage rating. Current output is not what was Err 23 expected.
  • Page 23: Lighting Setup

TR-RT LED lighting controllers - User Manual Lighting setup triniti lights have the rating stored in them. For other lights, the rating of the light must be set by the user. This rating is the supply to the lighting that should be used to get 100% continuous brightness from the light. The TR-RT is compatible with both current and voltage rated lighting.
  • Page 24: Ethernet Communication(Tr-Rt220, Tr-Rt420)

You may need to ask your network administrator for advice about setting up the Ethernet connection. Ethernet set up is not affected by cold booting the TR-RT. See Application note APP923 (available from www.gardasoft.com) for troubleshooting Ethernet problems. Connection The Ethernet link uses a 10Base-T connection on an RJ45 connector. The TR-RT is usually connected to a network switch, hub or router, but you can connect it directly into the network port on a PC using a crossover cable.
